Interview by sis Janelle
In this feature on Knowing Our members, we have sis Janelle interviewing bro Asish. Bro Asish is from Andhra Pradesh, India and he is a member of Kothapeta Church of Christ. He was born and brought up in a Christian family and he plans to become a full-time gospel preacher after his graduation from Four Seas College. He placed membership with us at the start of the year and will be with us until he completes his studies in November.

What are you currently studying / working / doing? Why did you pursue this area of study / work / interest? I am a second-year student of Four Seas College. I came to study here because I wanted to be equipped with the Word of God so that I can become an effective Gospel preacher.
How do you usually like to spend your free time? Would you describe yourself as an outdoor or indoor person? I spend my free time learning something new. I am an indoor person.
How did you come to know Eastside COC? What do you like most about being in this congregation?
The school assigned me as a member of ECOC. I like Bro Lin's preaching and to get to know the members.
Who is your favourite Bible character? What is the trait you admire most about this character? My favourite Bible character is Jesus. I like the way He focused on His purpose, the way He prayed, and the way He influenced humanity.
What is your favorite Bible verse? Why is this verse meaningful to you? Jeremiah 23:29 "Is not my word like a fire? Says the Lord, "And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" This verse is meaningful to me because the Word of God has the power to change our lives. The more we are equipped with it, the more we burn with the passion to do it and teach it. It has the power to break the sinful hearts of men into pieces which is truly necessary for those who live in sin.
Which area of ministry are you most passionate about? How do you see yourself contributing to Eastside COC in this area? Soul winning and keeping them saved. I see myself a bit lag in this area for now, because I am studying here in FSC. But I can strive my best to help the congregation in evangelism and edification.
What is your biggest weakness? What is your biggest strength? My weakness is sleeping in (not being a morning person), and my biggest strength is adaptability.
What is your secret talent? Has that helped you in any way in your life? Somehow, I can have good conversations with people I’ve just met. Yes, this helped me to preach and teach others.
