Interview by sis Janelle
In this feature on Knowing Our members, we have sis Janelle interviewing bro Clent. Bro Clent is from the Philippines. He worked as an assistant preacher with the Tagbilaran congregation in Bohol prior to coming to Singapore to study at Four Seas College. His purpose in studying at Four Seas College is to equip himself in the work of the Lord to prepare himself to be a full-time preacher after his graduation. He placed membership with us at the start of the year and will be with us until he completes his studies in November.

What are you currently studying / working / doing? Why did you pursue this area of study / work / interest? I'm currently studying the Bible at Four Seas College. I pursued this area of study because of my love for the Lord.
How do you usually like to spend your free time? Would you describe yourself as an outdoor or indoor person?
During my free time I usually listen to music and work on my assignments. I am an outdoor person and I like hiking and running. That is back in the Philippines. I really like acapella music.
How did you come to know Eastside COC? What do you like most about being in this congregation?
I came to know the ECOC through Four Seas College. I love ECOC because it feels like I'm in my home congregation in the Philippines, I feel the love and kindness of the brethren.
Who is your favourite Bible character? What is the trait you admire most about this character?
My favourite Bible character is Jacob because of how he waited for Rachel and worked for a long time to get her.
What is your favourite Bible verse? Why is this verse meaningful to you?
My favourite Bible Verse is Matthew 5:16, which shows that as Christians we must be good examples to the world. Matthew 5:16 reminds me of my responsibility as a Christian to show kindness and compassion to others, especially those who are not part of the body of Christ.
Which area of ministry are you most passionate about? How do you see yourself contributing to Eastside COC in this area?
I'm passionate about preaching and evangelizing. For now, I would like to serve as a member of ECOC in song leading and praying.
What is your biggest weakness? What is your biggest strength?
My weakness is my body because sometimes I want to study, my mind is willing, but my body wants to sleep. My strength is the hope that I hold onto believing in God.
What is your secret talent? Has that helped you in any way in your life?
Maybe my secret talent is still secret hahahaha. Still to be discovered.
