Interview by sis Janelle
In this feature on Knowing Our members, we have sis Janelle interviewing bro Wendyll. Bro Wendyll is from the Philippines and he was working in Negros Island as a part-time preacher together with bro Jeramel (a former Four Seas College graduate), while studying for his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, prior to coming to study at Four Seas College. He placed membership with us at the start of the year and will be with us until he completes his studies at Four Seas College early next year.

What are you currently studying / working / doing? Why did you pursue this area of study / work / interest? I'm currently studying Theology/Biblical Studies at Four Seas College, to equip/prepare myself to become more effective in leading and preaching.
How do you usually like to spend your free time? Would you describe yourself as an outdoor or indoor person? Watching online videos, mostly sepak takraw videos. (I would describe myself as an) outdoor person.
How did you come to know Eastside COC? What do you like most about being in this congregation?
Through the school (Four Seas College). (I like that) brethren are working together and supporting each other, especially in worship and in other church activities.
Who is your favourite Bible character? What is the trait you admire most about this character?
The apostle Paul. (I admire) his commitment and his dedication in preaching the Gospel.
What is your favourite Bible verse? Why is this verse meaningful to you?
Hebrews 12:1-2 (Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God).
These verses teach me how to run, persevere, and win the Christian race, by fixing my eyes on Jesus who sits at the right hand of God.
Which area of ministry are you most passionate about? How do you see yourself contributing to Eastside COC in this area?
In preaching. Perhaps, in God's will, I may be able to share my knowledge in Scripture by preaching to the brethren at Eastside soon.
What is your biggest weakness? What is your biggest strength?
As of now, I'd like to hide my biggest weakness, but my biggest strength is that I can stay positive even in a negative situation.
What is your secret talent? Has that helped you in any way in your life?
Writing poems (especially in my language/dialect). Writing poetry helps me express thoughts and feelings I struggle to verbalize. It allows me to explore my inner self and emotions, facilitating healing from the ache of loneliness.
